Secret of peace and pleasure

Peace and Pleasure both words have different- different meanings. Today everyone wants to get peace and pleasure in one's life. But really there are few people who have peace and pleasure in their life. 

Some people understand that peace and pleasure means to be rich and eat tasty food, wear high priced clothes, and live in a good house and have more and more facilities. But these described things will never give you peace and pleasure in your mind. These can give peace and pleasure for a short time. 

There are some people who plan to make trips to see many memorable or beautiful places or where everyone wishes to go. There are some types of people who wish to earn more and more money and live a peaceful life.

Can money give a peaceful life? Answer will be no, because it can give a short time. Peace and please can be felt with continuous practice of mind to avoid avarice, sadness, anger, repent, thinking  about past and future. 

Peace and pleasure can be felt though keeping us always in the present and keeping our wandering mind in control.It can be understood by a story…

A boy who asked his father about the secret of peace and pleasure.His father told him about a hill station where a saint lived and he had the secret of peace and pleasure. 

Next morning the boy took some dry food in his bag and departed for hill station where the saint lived.The journey was for two or three days. 

He reached the hill station. He saw the saint was sitting and people were sitting around him. He waits for his turn. When his turn came, he went to the saint and asked about the secret of peace and pleasure.

The saint told the boy to come the next morning. As told by the saint, the boy went to the saint in the early morning. The saint said take one spoon and pour some oil in it and watch the garden, House , painting inside the building but remember one thing, even one drop  of the oil should not fall from the spoon.

The boy started walking inside the building and properly concentrated on the oil in the spoon. He walked all around and let no drop of oil from the spoon. 

He went to the saint and told he has walked all around the building. He found pleasure everywhere.


The saint again walked all around the building and no need to concentrate on oil. He again did this, but not as pleasing as before. He went to the saint and said that this time he did not find pleasure in watching all the things inside and outside the Building.



The saint asked for any drop of oil from the spoon while walking inside and outside the building. The boy said, yes.
